RESEARCH ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Lead investigator of a multi-center, international, randomized clinical trial of progesterone for the prevention of preterm birth. The results of this study demonstrated that the use of vaginal progesterone decreased the rate of preterm birth before 33 weeks of gestation and respiratory distress syndrome
- Published the first genome-wide evaluation of the uterine cervix after term labor
- Description of the transcriptome of the ripe uterine cervix
- Children’s Research Center of Michigan Research Award: “Fetal Growth Impairment and Maternal Microchimerism”
- Authored and co-authored over 300 peer reviewed publications and 10 chapters
